Limangus has always participated in Block Tests that judge steer carcasses. Awards won in the objective prizes such as Marbling, Back cuts weight and Steak size showed us the path chosen was corrected, and our breed was superior in meat production.
The goal was to produce an animal for both the domestic and export markets with no extra fat and good meat yields.
With the finishing of steers with grain in feedlots, that had gained popularity in the last decades, animals appear to have more fat, and the industry punishes this extra fat. Limangus has the right amount of fat so buyers pay extra money for them.
